Biking + Hiking

Lewes offers some of the best biking trails in the state and on the East Coast. With mile-long trails that stretch from in-town Lewes all the way down to Rehoboth, you can enjoy anything from a leisurely ride to an intense workout. Stop for a coffee or a delicious bite at any of the restaurants or zoom on by while enjoying all that nature has to offer along the many wooded, water-lined trails. Trail maps and details.

Cape Henlopen State Park

Whether interested in fishing, hiking, strolling the coastline, or just exploring Cape Henlopen State Park is a great spot for residents and visitors alike. Cape Henlopen is the place where Delaware Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean, making it a great place for dolphin watching and surfing the waves.

Tour the Fort Miles Historic area as well to learn more about our history in World War II. With its Observation Tower and impressive historic cannons, this is a great place to explore!

There are many to choose from and most within walking distance of our Inn- Zwaanendael Museum, Lightship Overfalls, Cannonball House, Lewes Historical Museum, and the Lewes Historical Society.

Shopping in Lewes

Lewes is also full of some of the most fun and unique boutique shopping around. The Brush Factory on King’s Highway offers everything from home décor to unique clothing and gifts. And pop right down the street to The Station on King’s to find more fun and interesting shopping with an outdoor garden space and a full bakery and coffee shop you won’t want to miss! If you are looking to just stroll down the street, The Bungalow on 2nd, Gypsy Myst and Lewes Wear are great spots to check out!
